turbo rebuild

i have a spare turbo now, big 16g,, and i was wondering where i could get a rebuild kit. i only found em on ebay and not too sure i want to go that route. i would like to have a rebuilt spare in case anything ever happens.

Ebay rebuild kits are a waste of time. Most turbo rebuilders charge more money if you're going to provide the kit (and it usually goes in the garbage anyway). Rebuilders will have all the oversized bushings, oil rings and everything needed in stock. They open your turbo, service all the parts and then fit the proper size bushings and seals to your now worn shaft. Finally they balance it and re-install. If you miss that step then you've wasted your time because the turbo needs to be in proper balance if you expect it to last.
