STS Remote Turbo Kit

Does anybody have this system installed on their ride? Non-conventional but looks awesome to me. Who is going to be the first to have a rear mounted turbo instead of a muffler on a Ralliart?

Not going to happen on a RA. THere is just not enough room for all of that under there especially a return pipe. Still though the idea behind this is intresting.

Smile Food for thought

I read an example of an STS system being mounted on an Acura Integra. I don't think I am ready to ever say that something will never happen. Thinking outside the box creates this type of innovation. Why couldn't a Ralliart driver adapt it to their ride with some creative thinking. It seems like every post I read concerning new conventional turbo installs has required creative thinking.

$2,995.00 Universal kit: No Fuel management Computer and you have to fabricate all the piping and then tune it.....we are looking at over $5K for this to work on a RA...crazy looking but not a good deal in my eyes!

Problem with this is that it's terribly inefficient. It's more of a solution for cars that are rather short on space under the hood.

STS kits are very common on Corvettes, and work very well. I was never a fan of having the turbos out back, but in terms of functionality, they perform great.

OK I have been entertaining this idea for a while. First question is this, Who has seen or put there RA on a lift and looked underneath. Well I have and do you know how the STS works without an intercooler. Basically for those that dont the piping under that car is cooled by the are flowing under that car. Well as I have looked the ONLY place to run piping is next to the exhuast. Well that defeats the purpuse, also tell me where you are going to bring the pipe up into the engine compartment, well that wont work iether unless you run it right next to the exhuast. Basically unless you redising the undercarage of our cars NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Also like stated above, to much money for somthing like that. Well correction you could have the pipe runing along the bottom off the car and put 20s on it sooo the piping wont get all dented up ect. But then all that power is wasted in trying to turn those 20s lol. Basically its not going to happen with how our car is set up, that is within exceptible spending limits. I would rather show a intercooler then spend 8k on somthing like that to get it to work.

Unhappy Forward thinking

I guess I am confused about the intent of the forum. I honostly thought that this would be a great place to discuss new and innovative ideas about my ride. I seem to have ended up in the land of the closed minded. I really don't know how blanket statements can be made about fitment, without first discussing the creative ways this product has been adapted to other smaller plantforms. I guess the photos of 9 and 10 sec GTO's, and the article on the acura were confusing. Creativity can solve alot of issues with fitment. How else could the forward thinkers before us come this far? I guess the only way for this group to jump on the band wagon is to see copies of dyno runs posted. Sad... I will look elsewere for creative imput and post the dyno runs when the project is completed.

For my Ralliart maybe not but for my Diamante with zero underhood space and the biggest muffler short of a truck maybe work.

I would encourage you, or anyone else to go for this setup if you think this is the route you want to take. I think what is being said is that for the same cost (ultimately) you could get a setup a little less prone to damage being on the underside of the car, and potentially better performance. I've thought about these sts remote mount kits also but I was really concerned about damage they could take being so much closer to the ground, and theft. Sorry if my first response seemed close minded. These were the factors I considered and just thought it best in the end to go with an RRM or RPW kit at that point, since they are tailored to fit our cars and tuned with the R/A in mind. Good luck if this is something you are strongly considering though, I personally did not find this kit to be the ideal solution for my setup, not that I could afford any of them anyway.

...You asked for advise....you got our "HONEST" opinions: To me you are a the one with the closed mind that can't take a real and honest opinion!!!

There are better and proved ways to install a Turbo and even a SC on the Ralliart! If you don't like what you read here then go elsewhere but don't try to bash the users of Evom because they don't thing that the STS is a good solution for the RA.

Inmature remarks like that are not needed here! If you liked the system...then go and install it and prove that you are a creative and innovative person.

FYI: The world first 2.4L Turboed Ralliart was made down here in Puerto Rico...so next time do a little reseach before saying that there are not creative users in this forum!

Well, the only thing is if you like it, go for it and prove to the rest of the population that it works and that they were wrong . That way everybody learns about it funcionallity on the r/a .

First only a few users said that this just would not fit. And i noticed that all of them were members who know their SH*T. don't take them for granted but do alot of research before you say they're wrong.

Second, even if the kit does fit members are right that it is a kit for thos who don't have the space in their engine bay for a kit. we are lucky enough to have a few great options of pre-made kits and people who have gone custom to help lead the way.

No one said not to do it, they just are saying if it was their money it wouldnt be the choice they'd go with. besides do you want to buy it and find out it won't fit? or get a proven kit that will also last longer that will fit? if you want to be truly innovative go custom. do a turbo no one has and show you can go bigger.
