BlackRaven's Turbo RA
Hey everyone-
Here's my 2005 Laborador Black RA. I have a custom turbo setup fabricated by Modern Automotive Performance in Plymouth, MN (they're a vendor on EvoM). Although the whole process took quite a long time, I certainly learned a lot and am grateful for the help of everyone at that shop.
Turbo Setup
Mitsubishi 16G turbo
Turbosmart wastegate
Synapse BOV (recirc.)
Stock Evo 9 intercooler
SplitSecond FTC-1 via RRM
Walboro fuel pump
Big ol' K&N filter
Custom intercooler piping
Custom log-style manifold
Custom turbo-back exhaust
-Vibrant HF cat
-Magnaflow muffler
Hallman Pro MBC
Suspension
Tein S-Tech springs
OEM shocks
Progress rear sway bar & RRM perches
Painted calipers (black)
MB Wheels Weapons 17X7
Nitto NeoGen 215/40-17 tires
Misc
ProSport Boost Gauge
AEM UEGO Wideband
RRM UDP
Silver's Engine Torque Damper via Rexpeed (easy to mod and fit an RA)
Monsterknobs shift knob
DIY doeskin leather shift boot (yeah, my mom helped me)
Wingless, but w/ LED 3rd brake light from Curt @ Mr. LED (vendor on here)
Depo black housing tails w/ plug-in LED bulbs, also from Mr. LED
Yes, I need to vacuum my interior...deal with it.
...don't be too envious of my photography skills
As far as numbers, here are the dyno charts. This is at 5psi with a slipping clutch:
Questions certainly welcome...thanks for looking

Nice post sir and thank you for the shout out! I'm glad we were finally able to get the tuning aspect of it somewhat sorted out for you, it was a learning experience for us all!

It cost more than the RRM kit, but that's because I made it cost more than that with a full exhaust and testing of other fueling options. Also, I insisted on putting money into things others may not (i.e., HF cat, higher tensile steel for the manifold, etc.). Other than the intercooler and air filter, it's all new parts. Total all is said and done, it was about $6-7000. As far as how long, I first dropped it off at the end of March '08 and took final delivery end of November '08. No, they didn't have my car for 8 months, but there was some troubleshooting a month here and there in between.

How does it feel? Fantastic Even before I get into positive pressure and the A/R starts to richen up, getting pushed into your seat is always fun. To go with that Evo intercooler, I need to get an Evo licence plate mount

It's a custom manifold. The wastegate dumps back into the exhaust a foot or so down.

I'll try to get some pics for you guys this weekend. Don't think about getting them, do it! They look sweet. If anyone rear ends you because "they didn't know you were braking," they're a complete idiot and/or totally blind.

You're certainly welcome, and thank you for helping me love my car even more than before I dropped it off at your shop. That being said, where's my MAP lanyard and/or t-shirt?

Right now, it's the stock injectors + a RC 750cc 5th injector. As for bumping up the boost, yes...but only to maybe 8-9psi, and only after I replace the clutch. Being front wheel drive with no limited slip, I don't think I need any more power than that

I agree...for the price, they're great. Biggest upgrade is to handling (as opposed to straight-line).
