has anyone tried to paint the stock rims ???

i was thinking of painting the original stock rims in some dark shade. has anyone tried to do that before ??? if so, can you post the pics or links, so i can see what it would look like.

My suggestion would be to not paint the rims. A past thread on this topic showed how it has the potential to weaken the rims and the results were pretty bad. But that's just what the thread said and I have no real idea but the pics were messed.

by just painting? no way, maybe powder coating.

painting wont weaken them, powder coating will because it needs a certain heat temperature to settle it or something.

Painting wont last because its bound to chip off, unless you have an excellent sanding job done to it, and even then chances are it can chip off...

i would definitly advise u dont paint them, just get them powder coated. i have my rims powder coated black and they are fine.

also in reference to the heat issue from powder coating I mentioned, I think theres a way where powder coating is done at a lower temperature level so it wouldnt weaken the alloy structure of the rims

Had mine powder coated with A LOT of clear coat on them. They have chipped but its not a little chip...its where something big has hit my rim...not just chipping because they are painted.
