How To: HID fogs on ralliart
I see all the evo guys have threads on how to put HIDS into there evos but I dont see anything with HID fogs for our ralliarts.
So by all means let me.

refer to this picture regularly as we go along.
Also, blue is ground(BLACK) 95 percent of the time red is always power.
First off. You can't be lazy. Take off your front bumper, theres plastic containers on the bottom and top. Theres 2 bolts attached to the fenders and 4 plastic pieces attached to the fenders as well. There is also 2 bolts attached to the bumper holding it on, then yank it off, but dont yank to hard, there is a power wire on the very bottom that is powering the fog lights.

so your bumper is off. there are 3 screws holding the fog light in. Since this is a factory fog set up its in there pretty good you cant just easily take things apart. I didnt take a picture of the original wiring inside this holder, however what i did was cut the wires to the H3 bulb and used the original gromits so that it will be sealed tight when i put the assembly back together. Take to connectors (NOT TAPE) and connect the wires back to the bulb. Then install the bulb into the fog light assembly.

So the ballast is going to need power. So cut the power that went to the original fog lights. My HID kit had two female connecters, so I put two male connectors to the original wiring. Then connected them together and put them back into the cover, obviously your going to want to tape them separately. Let me know what happens if you don't. I like fourth of July! Then connect the ballast connectors to the H3 bulb. If you don't know why i keep calling it an H3 bulb its cause thats what we got. Search that mofos.

I put the ballast in the upper half corner next to the fog and used the fog lights bolts. which is 10mm. I then zip tided everything and kept it all really close together. I think it looks very factory looking that way and uses all the original wiring.
Put your bumper back on and waaalllaaa. I used 6000k bulbs. Some kits may be more complicated, with fuses and such. So adjust accordingly. This maybe not be the best way to go about doing an HID conversion but this is how i did it and hopefully it gives someone confidence that they can take this challenge on there own.

yeah, why didnt you put hids in ur headlights first? i was thinking of putting 3000K HID in my fogs, but i already have 2 ballasts for my headlights, i think its stupid to have 4 ballasts hiding behind the bumper, ghetto fab!

its an example picture. if you went thru the dialog at all i would only say h3 throughout everything.
i did the fog lights because they arent as dangerous to people on the road. it is illegal to have hid headlights. i wont do hid headlights until i get projector housings.

NOTE: I don't know if it is just my car, or this will happen to others. However the grounding of the original fog light system did not have enough voltage going threw inorder to keep the fogs on for very long. Basically, make a ground wire to the chassis of the vehicle and then connect it to the ground of the HIDs.
Once again, this was just on my vehicle. For some reason it was only putting out 7 volts with the ground of my car, it could easily be from just a rusty ground spot. But it was quicker and easier to just make my own ground.

Thanks for your nice write up
Too bad I just put up my HID fogs yesterday, otherwise I'm going to do it your way (taking of the bumper instead of squeezing underneath). Your making everything neat, makes me wanna redo mine.
